Some homes are really tastefully decorated and presented, this is one of them! There’s a real harmony in this room and I love shooting homes as elegant as this. With the fire place taking centre stage here, ‘WOW’ indeed to the delicate balance of colour and the inviting feel of this sitting room.
If you’re interested in the most difficult aspect of making this image…. it was turning the light on above the kitchen island. That switch is high! This image was made in a brand new Spitfire show home. I do like the clean lines and sleek presentation of this space.
I could have photographed this barn from hundreds of angles, so settling on just a few compositions that show off the home wasn't easy. Here I wanted to link the dining area with sitting areas beyond. Opening doors also helps to invite the viewers eye beyond the foreground and to explore the house or in this case the garden further.
There's always a lot to think about when photographing a hall. It's important to show the viewer not only the space around the staircase, but also the rooms off it and how it relates to the rest of the property. Here I wanted to hint at the beautiful stained glass window at the top of the stairs and dining room just off the hall. The property was packed full of interesting architecture and ornate features.
